What is Microblading?

banner-What is Microblading?

Some people are born with perfect eyebrows; others of us are not so lucky. They are too light, too dark, or too thin or too heavy. For years, men and women have shaping and reshaping their eyebrows in various ways, from the old school of plucking out hairs one by one (ouch!) to the new technique of microblading. But what exactly is microblading?

NewMark Beauty offers the best microblading courses, as well as the best beauty salon supplies. Our mission is to help others bring these life-altering beauty techniques to their areas. Our beauty treatment courses (we also offer eyelash extension courses and non-laser permanent hair removal courses) are offered here in California or around the country. Continue reading below on what is microblading, and then contact us for when a microblading course will be offered near you!

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo that deposits pigment under your eyebrow in your skin to make them look fuller. A needle instrument is used that only reaches the superficial layers of skin. Microblading yields a very natural look that doesn’t need to be maintained like waxing does. It’s an easy way to shape your eyebrows to fit your facial structure. NewMark Beauty emphasizes that the strokes are made to be natural, and microblading lasts anywhere between one year to three. Microblading takes its name from a blade that is used to create the individual hair strokes.

HOW DOES MICROBLADING WORK?

First, you’ll meet with your microblading artist who will ask you some questions to get a good understanding of what you are looking for from the procedure. It’s usually a good idea to keep the natural direction of your brow hairs. Also, the color of the pigment used will be taken into consideration, which will be matched to your natural brow color and your skin’s undertone.

When your consultation is concluded, your brow area will be sanitized and numbed. While not as painful as a tattoo, microblading can sting, so a topical numbing cream is recommended. The strokes will be drawn in, which can take between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on your brow area and the look you are desiring. Afterwards, an aftercare ointment is applied to help the area heal, and a follow up is usually recommended in four to six weeks just to make sure you are happy with the results and that no touch ups are needed.
