The Before and After of Microblading

The Before and After of Microblading

In our last blog post, we discussed what exactly is microblading and how it works. Now that you understand the basics, let’s dive into some more details about microblading, specifically the before and aftercare of microblading.

NewMark Beauty is the best microblading trainer, offering courses that will teach you not only how to perform microblading procedures, but also offers up business tips for your day spa or aesthetician practice. Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo option for men and women who want to end the fuss over their eyebrows and get the shape they want once and for all. With over 20 years of running our own small business, we’ve learned the hard way and now we learn the smart way, which we will share with you. WHAT SHOULD YOU DO BEFORE YOUR MICROBLADING SESSION?

Before you have a microblading procedure done, you want your eyebrows to be as natural as possible and your skin not irritated. Here is a list of things you should not do before a microblading session:

  • Pick, tweeze, or wax your eyebrows
  • Go to a tanning salon or get sunburnt at least two weeks prior
  • Facial peel treatments
  • Retinol or vitamin A for at least a month prior
  • Exercise on the day of your procedure
  • Botox at least three week prior
  • Take fish oil or vitamin E one week prior, which thins your blood
  • Drink alcohol
  • Drink coffee
  • Take aspirin or ibuprofen ahead of time

WHAT DOES AFTERCARE ENTAIL WITH MICROBLADING?

NewMark Beauty wants to emphasize that aftercare for microblading is critically important for the success of this beauty treatment. It is advised to avoid any contact with water and sweat for at least a week because these could cause blurring or fading of the pigments. You also need to be exceedingly careful not to wipe your brows, which can be difficult to do if you subconsciously do so. Most of the time, your microblading shop will provide you with an ointment to use daily to help speed up the healing process. It takes about 30 days for you to see your permanent look. Avoid facials and botox for a month. Ultimately, you want your brows to finish healing before engaging in any activity that could disturb that process.

For longevity, you’ll want to avoid the sun since it can fade the pigments and avoid exfoliants because they can lift the top layers of your skin where the pigments reside and take the color right along with it.
